What does Nike do to preserve the environment and create sustainability ?

Nike is perhaps the most well-know sportbrand in the world. Nike is not only such an famous company through the size but because the iconic and recognizable logo shows up everywhere in most sport related events. Especially in the European football world nowadays. 



As a company focused on sales to relative young consumers, like teens and young adults the people of the future. Nike caries quite some responsibility towards the environment and sustainability, Nike has the power to make massive amounts of teen aware of pollution and the destruction of our planet. This power is mainly through the athletes that Nikes sponsors, if the athletes that so many fans look op to promote recycling and other things to preserve the environment, this will have an great effect on the next generation.
 


Nike is really doing an amazing job when it comes to improving the sustainability, recycling and decreasing the economical footprint. On the website it a truly beautiful video that promotes this idea, a video that’s typical for Nike. Already 75% of all Nike’s products contains recycled materials. The brand has ambitious targets for 2020

-Zero footwear waste to landfill
-20% reduction in freshwater use in dyeing and finishing
-Zero hazardous chemical discharge
-10 % reduction in our products environmental footprint




By 2025 Nike wants to have 100% renewable energy in all nike owned or operated facilities.
These are all perfect examples of how Nike sets an high standard in the sport business when it comes down to preserving the environment, this sets an example for the whole sports industry.
Nike says it’s doing it’s part to preserve the environment, to set ambitious goals and focuses on renewable energy and recycling. To preserve the world for the generations to come.

NIKE: Just Do It , is a sentence that a lot of people know nowadays. When people here the sentence only one brand is coming op: NIKE. The brand is the market leader in their market, but how did the company become so successful and what do people think from the brand. In this blog, I will explain the beginning of Nike. The start of NIKE Phil Knight is the man who came up with the idea for the company. He was a very sportive man, but he didn’t like the American sport shoes. The shoes were painful during long runs and he wanted to create a brand with better quality of shoes.
